Beschreibung

Vintage: The 2023 vintage began with cool early spring weather, resulting in a later than average budbreak in the last week of April. May temperatures warmed quickly, breaking records and accelerating shoot growth. Near the end of May, cooler weather returned, slowing vine growth going into bloom. The summer growing season was beautiful, marked by classic Oregon warm, dry days and cool nighttime temperatures. Harvest came a bit earlier than normal, and activity at the winery was fast and furious. An early autumn rain interrupted picking midstream, slowing the pace for a few days, and allowing our vines a well-deserved drink. All fruit was in the door by the end of October. The 2023 wines are brimming with bright energy, structure, spice and fruit.

Bewertungen (Auszüge):

93 Points – Decanter
The Tavola is a gateway wine to the Willamette Valley; it’s lovely, dark-fruited, and remains elegant and silken. Produced in the same approach as the top Ponzi wines, with less time in barrel and less new oak. This well-priced wine has serious stuffing. With some old vine Pinot and half of it estate sourced, with two sites in the Eola-Amity, Yamhill Carlton and Merten Vineyard towards the coast, lots of 35-year-old fruit. An intentional approach to quality at a fantastic price. With fruit sourcing of this calibre, it's a can't-miss wine. -Clive Pursehouse, Aug 2025
92 Points - James Suckling
A valley-wide blend of grapes that gives a vibrant, fresh and bright sense of red fruit, balanced by raspberries, black cherries and a rich texture on the palate. Light tannins, fresh acidity and a clean, balanced expression.

92 Points - Wine Advocate
The 2023 Pinot Noir Tavola comes from estate vineyards (65%) and purchased fruit. Matured for eight months in 25% new French oak, it has inviting scents of black cherries, blackberries, holiday spices, earth and bitters. The medium-bodied palate is brimming with spicy berry flavors. It’s framed by soft, velvety tannins, and fresh acidity highlights floral perfume on the long finish.
91 points Wine Spectator

A spry red, with vibrant cherry and guava flavors that take on accents of cinnamon and forest floor as this persists toward refined tannins.
