"The 2018 Syrah Mahana comes from the River Rock Vineyard in the Rocks region of the Walla Walla Valley. It offers exotic notes of blue fruits, lavender, violets, wood smoke, and sweet earth, and while it has some classic Rocks funk, it shines for its beautiful purity of fruit. Medium to full-bodied, rounded, and elegant, I love its tannins, the balance is spot on, and it's going to deliver the goods for 10-15 years."

International Wine Report:
"Another wonderful Syrah from winemaker Todd Alexander from The Rocks that explodes with The Rocks goodness - think wild blueberry, wet tilled earth, cracked black peppercorn, charred meat, and black olive. Delivering medium to full-body, medium-plus acidity, it is incredibly balanced in the mouth and just feels like it’s expertly crafted. The finish has that Rock’s funk to it, with slight red rose notes, and brings plenty of spiciness to the back palate. Enjoy this over the next decade or more. J. Young (95)"

"Though not immediately apparent on the aromas, this is all Rocks District fruit. Huckleberry aromas are out front, followed by notes of boysenberry, bramble, ash and smoked meat. There's a very pretty, understated elegance to the palate. Purple fruit notes linger on the finish. Give it a short decant. (92)" Sean P. Sullivan
